Your axle seal on that side is leaking and you'll need to follow the process on page
4-3 through
4-5 of the 1948-51 Chevy Truck Shop Manual to pull your axle for replacing the seal.
Since you are already going to get into the axle this way, it may be best to to go ahead and replace both side axle seals, along with checking your bearings and replacing if necessary. You won't want to do the job twice if you don't have too.
