I would expect most of your components are worn. They are 75 years old, after all. Might be a good time to disassemble it all and inspect everything. The rod from the pedal mechanism to the cross bar actuator, is multipiece. And, I think there is some adjustment in it, too. It's been a while since I had mine apart. You should also make sure your brake shoes are adjusted correctly. Cable replacement would be a good thing as somebody got in there and messed with one of them. The OEM clevis ends should both look like what you have in picture one.
