Good on ya for being innovative! Since Melling is apparently back in production on their 261 clone cam (CCS-1) I'm planning to acquire some of those cams and modify the bearing journals to fit the 216 block. That should solve the rod clearance problem as well, since those cams are profiled for the 235 stroke already. I'm still in the R&D process for getting a 216 steel core cam ground for a roller lifter profile. I'll turn down the areas between the lobes with my lathe before sending the core off to have the roller lifter lobes ground. A thin sleeve pressed into the lifter bores on a stovebolt block will make mechanical roller lifters for a big block MOPAR engine fit.
