That seems to be the trend with shipping these days. I've seen several instances where some small part could be put in a padded envelope and mailed for a couple bucks, but instead they put it in a shoe box with some crumpled newspaper and bubble wrap and charge more to ship it than what the part costs. Things are definitely not the way they used to be!
