One thing for all to remember who have an ammeter. If you add some component, don't wire it to the battery or to any hot spot before the "positive" terminal of the ammeter. This includes not wiring to the starter stud. When that component is on, the ammeter will indicate a constant charge. OK for a horn. That is momentary. Wire the new component to the load side of the ammeter, wherever that may be.
