Dan: What are those small red egg-shaped things in your "chili"?
Bill - It's not "Texas" chili.
My Mom's recipe dating back to the Depression (when she was a young 'un) when you had to add a bit to stretch the food out to feed a passel of hungry mouths and stretch every penny. I've made it her way since forever.
Don - since it was just beginning it's cooking process, it looks a little on the thin side. Trust me when I say you can stand a spoon up in it and carry it to the table without the spoon falling over when it's ready to eat.
