Nice work! Are you going to use a pulley under the floorboard to turn the direction of the cable?
It’s amazing what you can print on a 3d printer especially if you know how to use a modeling program. I use fusion360 and it’s free for hobbyist . I got my printer a couple of years ago and it comes in handy allot.
WICruiser: I believe that the center your talking about is floating and not anchored.
The cable bends and follows along the gap between the inner fenderwell and the firewall. I'll shoot some pics of it when I mount the rest of it. I have it routed to the place where I'm putting the split box and it fits nicely. The 3D part I modeled has a 6 inch radius molded into it so the cable bend could start before it exited the firewall so it would clear the inner fender.
I have some work software (CATIA) that I use for the modeling effort. That is pretty much what I do for a living so that portion is easy for me since I have been doing it since 1992. Now the rigging of the part on the printer with supports and slicing it is all new to me but we had some 3D printed parts at work that needed to be designed so I got a crash course on it (meaning I was handed a bunch of documents to read)... but that was for super expensive machines printing metallic parts that were way more capable than my little $400 unit. The interesting thing is that somewhere around 1993 we had some parts made at work for a mock-up but back then the process was stereolithography. We went down to tour the workshop that did the laser stereolithography and the guy told us that the 55 gallon drum of resin that they used for the printing cost $100k.... and a part that would now take my machine hrs to print would take 2 days. The parts were also uber brittle. Amazing the advancements in 3 decades.
