Good luck! Once upon a time I found what was an NOS Carter YF that had been used for what appeared to be a very short while. The seller claimed the carburetor was defective and probably couldn't be made to work since the company was out of business. The minute I removed the top I saw that pin had been installed incorrectly and hadn't been caught by anyone. Maybe on a Friday...who knows but the needle, spring and pin were sitting right in the bottom of the float bowl. So for $30 I had a new one.
