It's been a while since I rebuilt my Carter carb, but something must have been amiss for the needle valve to fall out. I'm guessing it was just coincidental to you getting gas at Sam's Club.

That is some nasty gasoline, but I think you'll have trouble convincing Sam's Club to even reimburse you for the fillup you did before the issue occurred.

But the good news is you got it fixed.
