Thanks for all the advice, I don't have a bed right now and a 2 horse set up is fine with me. So for the frame swap option should I get to measuring and looking for something similarly sized? E-zchassisswap.com has a kit that includes trucks up to 03 for a 49-55 chevy/gmc. Maybe something in that range will fit me?
As I recall, the ez-chassis swap setups for the 49-55.1 trucks sit on an S10 frame. If so, your towing capacity will be less than half what you are looking for.
