Hi, I have a 1952 3600 that I'm looking to LS swap and I know it isn't the easiest choice initially, but I know it can be done. So in looking for an engine I started to consider what else I could use from a donor vehicle, maybe even do a whole frame swap? I've been looking at a lot of 00s suburban, silverado, avalanche, Sierras... anything with an LS in it. Does anyone know if any of these frames would work for my project? Also, any guidance or advice on the engine swap or any part of the project would be a lot of help.
I plan on owning this truck for the next 50+ years and then passing it on so time and money are a little flexible, but I still wanna save as much of both as I can.
I bought the truck as not running, but it had most of what it needed. I replaced the gas tank, fuel lines, and fuel pump and I got to drive to the end of the street before something maybe came loose because it won't start now. I wanted to do an engine swap in the future, but I think I'll do it sooner than I thought, because the motor currently needs a lot of time put into it that could be put towards something with a little more power.
