Bartikomonos is correct that your visible leak may, or may not, be at that fitting.
But I’ve also never seen a B with particular fitting bottomed out. I can’t imagine that’s ok. Perhaps some variants have a different inlet thread style that depends on a washer or something. I’ve never seen one that isn’t pipe thread. And pipe thread doesn’t work like that.
