The fitting does not bottom out or run all the way in on the donor carburetor. Only on the carburetor I’m trying to save. See the picture of the donor carburetor. This is what started me down this path. If your wondering why not use the donor carburetor it because there is a crack on the accelerator side of the airborne.
This confirms that the fitting, or a fitting, has been overtightened in the carb you are trying to save. If you really want to save it, read my earlier post.
