If there is a leak (which many have) it will need topped off occasionally and that usually isn't a big deal.
On later model (80s-ish) systems, the power steering fluid change interval is usually in the 60k mile range. Not sure what you have installed.
That said, bad power steering fluid would not cause the issues you have been describing. That very much sounds like a mechanical problem. | | |
