I like Mark's suggestion of a plastic scraper if it has to come off. It might take something stronger than lacquer thinner to soften it up enough to scrape off. Epoxy is usually pretty resistant to lacquer thinner.
I've been to that gulag before, but with body filler that I didn't get enough hardener in. Fortunately I still have some sandpaper left.
