Apparently I was not clear.
Agree that the 38/38 is not progressive. I was referring to the Weber 32/38 as a progressive carb. I think you misunderstood my intent concerning the Webers. I did not intend to use two weber carbs. My plan was to replace both carb and intake manifold, and use only one weber carb. The option there would be either one of the 38/38 or one of the 32/38, not two of either.
With respect to the Offenhauser manifold, I was referring to the common log version. My concern was that with three of any carburetor, the 235 could be unevenly fueled by variations in the adjustments, balancing or wear over time, of the multiple carbs.
