For anyone thinking well outside the box, I added a spin-on filter on the passenger side of the engine after thinking about what to do with the blank-out plate for the fuel pump (since I rely on an electric pump). I ran the lines over and below the crankshaft and out the blank-out plate, mounting the filter on an unused side motor mount location. The 2 nice things about this is I can also use the by-pass filter if I wish and the spin-on filter is really easy to get to on the passenger side.
