I was just going to post a request for fuel gauge help. Don't want to sabotage your thread Darren.
From other bolters' posts, you might try checking ground. Run ground from sender to frame. Also a ground (new sheet metal screw) from gauge cluster housing to one of the 3 mounting bolts. Good luck.
Now, my question to the forum - did I really BLOW a 2 new fuel gauges?
I replaced the gauge in my 12v 1955e. But I crossed the wires and by all accounts killed it. So...
I installed a 2nd new gauge this week and did this... Please Comment....
After connecting the ground from sender to gauge, I attempted to connect the 12v, BUT, upside down under my dash with my glasses slipping, I put the 12v on the SAME post. Unknowingly, I turned the key to see if the needle moved. Nope. I quickly turned off the key and corrected the wires.
My gauge is stuck at 3/4.
Did I kill number 2?
Any ideas?
