Don't pry open the rebound clips. During assembly they may have been heated to make them pliable for bending but the metal may temper as it cools. You can break the clips trying to open and squeeze them back into place. Please post a picture of the whole spring so we can see the pin and orientation of the leaves. The two shortest leaves do not have rebound clips. They are held in place by the U-bolts once the springs are installed.
The springs are new. If they are assembled wrong they need to be returned or get a refund.
