That's right and great observation, by the way! There's positive and negative power for the board and positive and negative power for 2 speakers (R & L). Please see the attached image. You'll see a tiny cell on board which I'm assuming is what they've used for memory "keep alive." But at this point this board and I are still getting acquainted. More to follow. Yes, it would easily fit there or possibly elsewhere. I have made contact with another seller of similar radios over there but it is a slow process. The interesting thing is these folks seem to have almost no data about these things. They just sell them.

As for volume, there is more than enough from what I've seen. Plenty enough to drive you out of my work room and last night my wife asked "why are you playing that thing so loudly?" I had the volume on 3 and it could be heard in the back part of the house.
