IMO-the biggest drawback to the Cadillac engines as truck powerplants is that they don't have provisions for a pilot bushing,but since you'd probably want to freshen up the bottom end with new rod & main bearings before you install it,that'd be the perfect time to have the crank drilled for one. BTW-use the bushing,not the needle bearing. The pilot bearings seem to dry out and quit working.Other than that,they make awesome truck engines!Over 500 ft./lbs of torque STOCK,at relatively low rpms.
