There's two wires to the coil +, but one of those drives the tachometer, so only one wire. I have not seen anything looking like the ballast resistor pic/link you posted. The new coil does not require an external resistor. I hooked it up just like the old coil was, and discovered it was reversed polarity: wire from the starter went to - and the + wire went to the distributor. That won't stop it, but will make it less efficient at making quality sparks.

I'll get a better pic of the starter wiring tomorrow, but it does look similar to the side terminal pic Phak posted.
