Not if you have the rotating assembly balanced for an internal balance flexplate/flywheel and internal balance harmonic balancer. I use a pioneer SFI flexplate for 350 and the big 8 inch Chevy "Mall" harmonic damper.
If you decide to use a 4340 crank, be very picky about the manufacturer your choose. I used a Cola crank and there was very little machining to bring the crank into balance. At the same time as my crank was being prepped, my machinist had to insert two chunks of mallory into a 4340 scat crank to acheive the correct balance. IMHO, for the price of the two chunks of mallory, that guy was better off spending the extra dough on a Cola or Crower crank.
