I don't know about that. I've driven many Mustangs, 5.0s and GTs, plus I know several guys who race them. In the hands of a competent driver, they hook up just fine. The only one i know of that actually blew out a gear (the diff exploded) was a fella named Tommy Pedigrew who raced semi-pro for a local ford dealer. The only readon it blew the diff was that the engine (5.8 Cobra) was maiing more power than the stock diff could take. And yes, it did hook up.
