Worst problem I ever had with a TH350 or 400 was a shot modulator valve.

I knew a guy who got a hand-me-down late 70's Gutless who thought he was bad because he could wind it out to about 9 grand and then slam the car into low gear and bark the tires.

Dude did it all the time.. and we'd of course, egg him on.. I personally watched the guy do it several dozen times in one day.

Tranny never flinched.. much to our surprise.

The engine, on the other hand.. apparently wasn't up to the high revvin' action and died after about a month.

A buddy of mine took that TH350 slushbox and dropped it in his Camaro and drove it another 70K before he sold it.. and he wasn't any nicer to that tranny.

The TH trannys have been nothing but good to me.. the 700R4 trannys have been nothing but headaches and high dollar repairs.

The fact that all you find in the mid 80's and up vehicles is the 700R4 is why I only buy manual GM vehicles.

an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.
