I have a 51 3/4 ton with a 283 and the original muncy 4 speed on the floor. It is a great daily driver(which I do) but the rear end geared too high. I plan on changing the rear gear and also the engine and tranny. I would like to upgrade to a the LS1 and t56 because of efficiency and the power grin I don't plan keeping the motor or tranny I currently have.

I have never tackled this before and have found a great tech website web page to help with this.

Has anyone done a conversion like this?? I would like some advice on this.
