I am overwhelmed by the information given to me. I am really looking forward to the build. I have been told that the t56 6 speed would be a good choice for the combo.
My 51 is a 3600 and a six lug, so it isn't such a big truck. I am using it for all kinds of stuff right now, like hauling dirt, x-mas trees bicycles, toys, wood, and rescue swimmer gear for work, whatever.
The bottom line is driving a 283 is great for now but I need something with more power. My goal is to keep the exterior stock, and the drivetrain up to date. To get there - engine/tranny wise is the question.
