I bet you learned on company time.(no one would pay me at 12-14 years old)
There is a time for learning and there is a time for getting help.I have seen this problem many times. If you need to learn go to the machine shop and learn on a cracked head.It aint like when we were young.cost use what... 20 bucks to do a valve job??
