Your playin with fire. If your not rebuildin the motor just take a little kero and wash it off with a paint brush a little than blow it off with compressed air. Dont take the head apart if you dont have the tools or knowledge unless you plan on spendin cash. Another little trick to see if the valves seal is to put kero in the ports and see how much is leaking out of the seats.If its leakin your toast.Take it to a pro if you want to save money.If there are deposits on the valves than the rings are most likly bad also or guides(did you get the head off another motor??)
