Beautiful truck Roadrunner.
As far as getting under the rear half, if it were my truck, the decision to or not to would hinge on the condition of the deck boards. If they are rotted and you want to replace them, then the best method would be to unbolt the bed and remove as a unit, thus exposing the entire rear suspension, then follow Tom's advice.
