Actually, most personal electronics run on 5 volts, so the 7+ volts available when a 6V system has the engine running charges stuff just fine! Ditto on the texting and driving- - - - - -shove somebody's smart phone where the sun don't shine. but use a little K-Y jelly if you're feeling merciful!
