Ideally, the fuel level in the float chamber should be almost- - - -but not quite the height of the fuel nozzle in the venturi. That way, just a little vacuum developed by air flowing through the venturi above idle speed begins to draw gasoline into the airstream due to the vacuum developed by the airflow. If the fuel is at or above venturi height, it dribbles into the air stream all the time- - - -including at idle. If your truck has an altered stance, like the goofy-looking bumper draggers do, you might have to lower the float level slightly to compensate.
