Thanks for the walk through on that, I got the connection in place nice and tight. However after new points, condenser, cap, and fixing that loose connection theirs still no difference. I checked timing again which was fine and I set the points gap to .018
The whole distributor housing has a tiny bit of wobble against the block but the shaft in the distributor doesn't wobble at all, it seems very good.
I think it's gotta be fuel related at this point, I think I've ruled out almost everything with ignition and timing. I also checked the spark plugs again, which are still running rich with the carb on lean mixture settings (just 1 full turn out on the mixture screw) I'll put a photo of how the plugs look, I'm pretty sure their very rich.
