I was referring to travelling on Interstate 90 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike (65/70 MPH in NY/MA).
Fade happens from "riding" (frequently using) the brakes. Never had that problem on an Interstate. I have had that problem on country roads, and go more slowly on them, for all sorts of reasons.

It is also one of the few Interstate Highways that has a stoplight.
