Yes it is possible to have the distributor in enough to run but not seated in the oil pump. What I like to do is align the oil pump with a screwdiver so that the distributor will not seat. I then insert the distributor and observe how high it sits not seated. I then know that it has to go about 3/8" deeper. | | | |
