| | | | Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 863 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 863 | I know it's more work, but I would also pull the push rod cover and check the lifters and lifter valley for rust. I would also pull the rocker arm assemblies and clean the internals real good, rocker arm tubes, and all the rocker arms, push rods, etc. With that much rust, I would also pull the oil pan and check for rust in the pan and on the crankshaft towards the front of the engine. Then thoroughly clean.
