I have a '52 1.5 ton stake with a 4 speed trans. I notice a clicking noise when I push in the clutch and coast slowly in second gear. Example: slow down to stop at the end of the driveway, push in on the clutch; it clicks about twice per second then will slow to nothing when I stop. Now, it is important to note that if I pop it out of gear while I'm rolling the noise stops completely,(clutch in or clutch out, no noise). Everything sounds fine when accelerating. I'm looking for ideas. I can't get my helper to hang underneath and listen; not that she would know what to listen to! It is not a violent noise and I'm not too concerned, but I would like to have an idea what might be causing it. Thanks in advance!
