Here's some real world information. The Task Force trucks which were fitted with NAPCO drive trains had 235 engines in them. The NAPCO setup was not designed to handle the horsepower of a V8. You will have some early failure of moving parts such as transfer case, and drive shafts if you try to put a V8 in a NAPCO truck. If one were to insist of doing so, It would be a good idea to use a plain Jane one and stay out of the gas pedal as much as possible.
