I am working on same area of rear fender. A body man suggested that instead of trying to make one big patch panel make 3 or 4 panel to help deal with compound curves. So far have 3 smaller panels completed working on 4th to finish complete panel. I know this requires much more welding and grinding but my skill level with hammer is not up entire panel. Old Norse
