Well I took the guage apart again and pushed the faceplate oUT some as it was resting on the needle, and after putting it together the needles move in the right direction. Although not perfect as it doesn't go all the way to full it's good enough. Thanks for all the advice. Now on to putting the electric windshield wiper.
