I would be curious to know if others that have these old vehicles that were passed down through the family, if the original title had any identifying numbers on them and when the title was transferred, did the DMV make them get a VIN number created for it?
I've titled many old vehicles through the years and never had a problem. The chassis number or engine number were the identifying numbers (vin) back then and they still work today. I've never had the DMV change any of the old title/vehicle numbers to something modern. You're luck as you still have both of these numbers on your truck!
