This made me think about a bill of sale from my brother in law. Why would I need an appraisal if I got a bill of sale for $200.00
If I purchased a junk 62 chevy from someone for $200.00 and that was on the bill of sale, that is what I would pay in taxes on it. Of course I would have a title in that case.
But getting a title is really not the issue here. It's getting a VIN # and that is satisfied by getting a letter from my brother in law stating that this vehicle was abandoned on the family property 60 years ago. I guess.
