Linear just means when you double RPM then the oil pump will flow twice the volume. Engines are designed to have the max oil available during the most torque range. Above those 600-1800 RPM, then the oil is just dumped to pan. Baffles me to think nowadays 40# idling means anything like security to people. That would scare me.People have NO understanding of these oiling systems, won't admit it, and purport their ideas as groundbreaking. It's elementary foolishness. I'll leave you to this.
