I have no idea why oil pressure discussions are so passionate and bring the idiot out in everyone, but guys, I have a friend who stated it very clearly..

"While some of you are all educated in this and find these discussions to be Pedantic (as in fussy, not as in the real definition), there are some of us who are on the edge of our seats DESPERATELY trying to learn the things some of you just take for granted."

That is why I am here. Because there is hope for this group that maybe we can accommodate everyone at every stage in the learning process. We need to realize that every day, new Bolters are born and the same questions WE had a generation or two ago, are VALIDLY being asked today. Now that Modernity has advanced to where we are, we are asking questions in a different way, more basic, yet with the desire to take things a step further than ever before. How about lets LEARN together without letting the Dumass that resides in all of us derail the entire process!

I fight this phenomena every single time I post here, and frankly I am losing my sense of humor. How about let's be patient, POLITE, and put Human Decency and Kindness as the first thought in our minds as opposed to acting like a bunch of dumass Hillbillies straight out of the movie Deliverance! And, I digress thus we have come full circle!

ANYONE with any brains who has been here more than 4 minutes 59 seconds, knows that there are TWO people who put themselves forth as experts on these particular engines.

Pre68Dave is one of my best friends. He spends a lot of time here making sure the newbies questions are answered with respect and dignity. His father, who recently passed was very instrumental in teaching him this craft since he was a young boy. If ANYONE knows every square inch of the engines that are part of the stock experience, it's Dave.

HotRodLincoln is a presence here who has shown time after time his expertise as well. Although we do not get along, primarily because he does not understand the utmost and foremost importance of being kind and decent to his fellow man, his expertise is apparent and appreciated if you can wallow through the mud he creates by being a total [censored]. The idea of attracting more bees with honey does not even occur to him. I have spent my due time in the Military and have met him 1000 times over. I appreciate him as a result of my experience, but wish for the sake of the newbies he would have more tact.

As far as relating to THIS thread? HRL will do what he always does and not do anything. He created all this hoopla thinking the Oil Pump relief valve governs the 216's pressure. Once he learned it was the Oil Distributor, he will now completely back off and it's highly unlikely you will get anything worthwhile out of him. It's his way. He can't admit when he is wrong, so he doesn't say anything. Reference: The O2 sensor thread.

Jerry, I would love for you to take something and run with it to improve our engines. With all that you know, ALL of your life experiences, YOU of all people could explain Oil Pressure, and engines so that the newbies (and me) can understand. Yet you take the combative role instead. I do NOT understand. If Chevy thought at the time when they started in the 30's and ran through to the 50's the same engine, that 14 psi was insufficient, I would think that aftermarket vendors all over would have jumped right on that. That said, I applaud you if you efforts aren't just a bunch of bluster, and I hope something positive comes out of this.

And THAT is as good as you get from me. But let's all just try and get along. smile People, Staff, EVERYONE: Try to not let the dumass get the best of you. I will also pledge to do my very best to understand you.

Merry Christmas everyone!
