Update on the muffler I received with my exhaust system for my 1949 3100 1/2 ton Chevrolet truck. Contacted the vendor and the muffler I received is made by AP products part# 421. If you look at their prior to 1969 exhaust products catalog, they list the head pipe muffler and tailpipe back to 1950. I have sent AP products an e-mail asking for photos. Hopefully they will respond. They also list another muffler part# 80065302 that is a round muffler with offset ends. 2" I.D. on the inlet and 1 3/4" O.D. on the outlet. Not sure but I'm guessing this muffler is for the later model AD trucks. It does not appear that AP sells directly to the consumer, so an AP products exhaust dealer would have to be contacted to purchase these items. Hope this is of some help.
