I straightened 5 bent push rods on a 216 30 years ago when I did not have access to anything else. I then put 21,000 miles on it and it ran like a top until I retired it due to a cracked water jacket and a mistaken assumption of a need to do a rebuild. (All it really needed was a re-ring job. I still regret scrapping that block.)
