Helicoils work really good for this. I have saved a couple rare carburetors with them. Use a drill press to get the straightest possible hole, and I like to use the drill press by hand to get the taps started straight. Once it gets started, hand tools will finish the job. Napa can get any set you need. You will need the complete kit, not just inserts.
