Those are Lockheed brakes- - -the same style used on Ford vehicles from the Model A to 1948, also on most Chrysler products of the same era. The snail shell style adjusters and the cross spring are a dead ringer for the Ford style brake. Some of them had an oval slot at the bottom to allow for a little bit of servo-action assist to transfer wheel rotation into extra braking force on the rear brake shoe. Nice project!
