Yep, also have an "848" head on my 261. I did have to get the "steam holes" drilled. Machine shop guy charged either $25.
If I remember correctly drill them at 12 degree angle to be sure the holes come out completely in the water passage. I think Deve has some pics on his links.
The 848 is a better compression head as I understand it. And its hard to find some of the others, even 848's, that aren't cracked.
