It looks like (in the Master Parts Book) the 1946 to 1954 3100 and 3600 tie rod ends (and ball joints?),
6.233,were the same from 1946-1954 (at least).
And, the 1/2 and 3/4 ton tie rod ends were the same as described in the 1954 Shop Manual (as shown above) and in the
1948-53 Shop Manual.
Were the 3/4 ton and 1/2 ton ball studs different?
Is my understanding incorrect, or is this discussion about other ball joints?
Nonetheless, is the stud in the modern-style replacement stronger than the original stud?
